This policy has been endorsed by the Board of Directors who fully support its implementation. The Board of Directors are responsible for ensuring that it is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels within the Company.
We are committed to the prevention of pollution and continual improvement of our environmental performance. This has been facilitated through the setting and reviewing of objectives based on our significant environment aspects. As well as ensuring that these are regularly monitored, our objectives have been documented and targeted through environmental reviews and are communicated throughout the company and to our clients, suppliers and contractors. As an organisation we will ensure that we: –
Comply with all environmental legislation, environmental benchmarks, Approved Codes of Practice and guidance produced by Regulatory Bodies where these which relate to our environmental aspects;
Provide all employees with the necessary resources, equipment, information, instruction and training to fulfill the requirements of this policy;
Achieve and maintain an environmental management system in accordance with the requirements as determined by the Environment Agency;
Avoid potential pollution by ensuring that oil and oil-containing wastes are suitably managed and contained in accordance with our environmental permit;
Minimise waste to landfill by minimising our own waste and by segregating and recycling waste that we receive from 3rd parties in order to protect and preserve the natural environment;
Co-ordinate wherever possible deliveries and collections so as to minimise business mileage; and
Use energy, materials and other natural resources as efficiently as possible, giving particular regard to the long term sustainability of consumable items.
All employees and organisations associated with the Company are expected to co-operate and assist in the implementation of this policy, whilst ensuring that their own works, so far as is reasonably practicable, are carried out without risk to themselves, others, or the environment.
This policy will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors and where deemed necessary will be amended and re-issued.
This policy statement is displayed in the Company premises. It is publicly available through our website, reception areas or as may be reasonably requested by any interested party.
